where the BBS System has more than one node.

The Five Card Draw Poker door game is distributed under the SHAREWARE
concept. Under this concept you may use the SHAREWARE (unregistered
evaluation) version for a reasonable period of time, which is normally thirty
days set by the evaluation (demo) key.
After which you must either register your copy or discontinue usage. Only
one demo key will be allowed per BBS system.

▒▒▒ Three Ways To Run ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
Running Locally:
To run locally just run DRAWPOKE.EXE without parameters or with the
paramameter SETUP to create a DRAWPOKE.CFG file. Then to run type:
DRAWPOKE DRAWPOKE.CFG LOCAL
at the dos prompt. By specifying the configuration file this will allow
the game to write the bulletins (to a path of your choice) and to allow
the game to use the Sysop's real name instead of the name Sysop.
Running With Evaluation (Demo) Key:
To run as an evaluation (Demo) door requires that you call one of the
support BBS's listed in the SUPPORT.TXT file included in the DRAWPOKE.ZIP
file. Where you can download (FREQ where available) a 30 day evaluation
(Demo) key. These keys are only 1,500 bytes so they can be downloaded or
File REQuested very quickly. These keys will allow you to run this door
for 30 days so you and your users may try it to see if you want it. If
you can't download/freq the key then fill out REGISTER.FRM and check the
keys you want and send it with $2 for shipping and the requested
demo keys will be mailed to you.
NOTE: Only one key for evaluation key allowed for
each system.
DO NOT DISTIBUTE EVALUATION KEYS
Let each system download there own key.
Running as A Registered Door:
To run as a registered door you must register. To register simply
print-out or copy the contents of the REGISTER.FRM file provided in
this package. Fill it out with the requested information and send it
with check, money order or Visa/Mastercard information to the address
on the form itself or at the end of this documentation.
Upon receipt of your order you will be sent your registered key. This
will be done, via net-mail where applicable or it will be sent U.S. Mail.
All COD orders will be sent UPS or U.S. Mail.
▒▒▒ Support ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
I just want to ensure those that decide to register this door that
shipment of the registered key will be sent promptly. I want to make it clear
that all my door games are supported by me to the best of my ability. If you
have any problems at all with any of my doors, I will try to solve your
problem as best as I can and also as quick as possible.
Support can be obtained by calling JNS Software Support BBS, calling
voice or by mail. Please see the last page of this document for phone

Welcome to Five Card Draw Poker. In this door verison of Five
Card Poker you play against the computer. The computer will deal
out a hand for you and a hand for itself. And you simply try to
beat the computers hand.
You have two rounds of betting. The first bet is right after the
hands are dealt. The second bet is made after discards and draws
have been made. There is no betting limit, but the computer will
make a logical decision rather a bet is within a range according to
it's own hand. The computer will fold if a it has nothing in it's
hand and a bet of more than ten percent is placed. Also, as scores
get higher it watches betting even closer.
The computer also has a Raise option. A raise is based on three
elements, the computers hand, the amount bet and the total of the
players score. Raises in general will rise with the players score.
All poker hands are recognized and are ranked as follows:
Straight Flush : Five Cards In Sequence Of The Same Suit
Four Of A Kind : Any Four Cards Of The Same Rank
Full House : Three Of A Kind And A Pair
Flush : Any Five Cards Of The Same Suit
Straight : Any Five Card In Sequence
Three Of A Kind: Any Three Card Of Same Suit
Two Pairs : Two Cards Of A Rank & Two Cards Of Another Rank
One Pair : Two Cards Of The Same Rank
High Card : Highest Card In Unmatched Hand
When the player and computer have tied or have nothing then the
winning hand is decided by the High Card method. If both have Ace
high then the next to the highest card is compared and so on.
* * * F E A T U R E S * * *
Five Card Draw Poker allows up to 50 hands a day. The registered
allows missed days to be made up as well as days to be played ahead.
These options are configurable by the Sysop.
A player may exit a game without completing all thier hands and
return later the same day to finish. Also, a player may also enter
the game at anytime after playing the current day and make up missed
days or play ahead days if any are available. The hands these days
must be played before exiting. You will not be allowed to re-enter
a day which is played as an extra day, make up or playing ahead.

DRAWPOKE.CHP contains:
This is the Last Months Champion file. It contains the Champs Name, Score,
Date and How many games won that month. This file is automatically created
when the game is first executed.
Deleting the DRAWPOKE.CHP file will cause the game to reinitialize
itself. It will create a new DRAWPOKE.CHP file and a new DRAWPOKE.DAT file.

▒▒▒ Setup & Installation ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
Installation procedures are very simple if you have setup a live
program in the past. First create a Sub-Directory for the door game and
copy all the files from the DRAWPOKE.ZIP file into this directory.
Now execute DRAWPOKE.EXE with the SETUP parameter as shown below:
DRAWPOKE SETUP or just DRAWPOKE
This will run the games setup feature that will create a DRAWPOKE.CFG
file. The setup program has complete on-line help so I will not duplicate
it here.
This is what the DRAWPOKE.CFG contains when created (less the comments).

▒▒▒ Execution ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
Some BBS Systems call batch files and some run doors direct. So if you
don't know how to install a door on your particular BBS System then please
see your BBS manual. The game merely needs the CFG file name passed to it on
the command line to operate. ie. DRAWPOKE.EXE DRAWPOKE.CFG

▒▒▒ Multi-Node Use ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
Running this game on more than a single node requires a Multi-Node Key.
When using a Evaluation Key you must allow only one (1) Node to access the
door at a time. You may use different configuration file names for each node.
Use the SETUP parameter with Five Card Draw Poker to create a DRAWPOKE.CFG
configuration file and then rename it for each node. For a short cut, you
may create one file and copy it to the different names and edit the file
with any text editor. Just be sure to keep all fields correct.
Example Of File Naming and execution:
Node 1: DRAWPOKE DRAWPOKE.CF1
Node 2: DRAWPOKE DRAWPOKE.CF2
Node 3: DRAWPOKE DRAWPOKE.CF3
▒▒▒ Notes Of Interest ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
This game does not require any monitoring program for dropped carrier,
it automatically detects this and exits back to the BBS.
This door DOES NOT require any runtime modules to run. It is run
as is without any aid from outside utilities.
Some Terminal programs have a default setting of ON for Compu-Serve B file
transfers. If this is on the Terminal Program will strip the ASCII Code 3,
which is a CLUB character used by the card. Have your users set this to OFF
if CLUBS fail to appear on the cards.
